Thank You Note After an Interview
A thank-you note after an interview is a simple way to stand out. It shows good manners, reminds the interviewer who you are, and gives you one more chance to confirm your interest in the role. A handwritten-style note is especially memorable for small companies, hospitality, creative roles and in-person interviews.

Frequently asked questions
Should I send a thank you note after an interview?
Yes. Many hiring managers appreciate it, and it is a low-effort way to leave a positive final impression.
What should an interview thank you note say?
Thank the interviewer for their time, mention the role and something you discussed, restate your interest, and close politely.
Is a handwritten note or an email better after an interview?
Email is faster and is the safer choice when a decision is imminent. A handwritten note is more memorable; some candidates send a short email the same day and a card afterwards.
How long should the note be?
Three to five sentences. The goal is to thank them and remind them of you, not to repeat your resume.
Do I send a separate note to each interviewer?
Ideally yes, with a slightly different detail in each. If that is not practical, send one note to your main contact and thank the panel as a group.
Can I write the application letter here too?
Yes. Use our handwritten job application letter maker for the application itself.
